Creating More Security

When it comes down to it, very little stands in the way of your family and their overall safety. I started thinking about different ways to create a safer environment for my family, and it all started with investing in a great new security system. I purchased a system that I felt really good about, and after it was installed, I was amazed with how well it worked. I wanted to make a little website all about creating a safe, comfortable environment for your family members. Check out this blog to learn how to create more security for you and your family members.

Reasons To Have Security Cameras Outside Of The Bathrooms Of Your Business

When business owners think about the security of their stores, they often rely on security cameras. Not only valuable as a visual deterrent, security cameras' footage may help investigators identify suspects who've broken the law on your property and help lead to an arrest. There are many places to mount security cameras inside your store. An obvious choice is around the cash register, as doing so may prove to be critical in the event of a robbery, but you also want cameras elsewhere. One important place is outside of your bathrooms. Here are some reasons that this placement is a good idea.

Identification Of What People Take Into The Bathroom

One way that shoplifters steal from stores is by placing goods under their clothing. Doing so can be difficult in plain sight, especially when you have security cameras around your store, so many criminals use the bathroom. A criminal can carry a piece of clothing, for example, into the bathroom, put it on under his or her clothing, and then walk out and leave the store. When you have security cameras outside of the bathrooms, you can monitor what shoppers carry into this area and whether or not they appear to have it when they leave the bathroom.

Deterrent Against Trespassing

Depending on your location, you may sometimes have people trespassing to visit your bathroom. While the act of going to the bathroom isn't really something that you may want to make an issue out of, some businesses have trouble with drug addicts using their bathrooms to use drugs. A security camera mounted outside of your store's bathrooms may deter addicts from taking this approach. Additionally, if you want to pursue trespassing charges against someone who repeatedly breaks this rule, you'll have footage that shows the person enter your business and go straight to the bathroom.

Evidence Of Hand Washing

If you run a business that sells food to customers, your staff's hygiene is vitally important. You'll always want to encourage your staff members to wash their hands carefully after using the bathroom, but not everyone may do so. You don't want to put security cameras in the bathrooms for privacy reasons, but a camera outside of this space may be valuable. For example, if you see an employee go into the bathroom and emerge 20 seconds later, it's likely that he or she used the bathroom but didn't wash his or her hands. Such evidence can be valuable as a tool to remind the staff member the importance of hygiene.
