Creating More Security

When it comes down to it, very little stands in the way of your family and their overall safety. I started thinking about different ways to create a safer environment for my family, and it all started with investing in a great new security system. I purchased a system that I felt really good about, and after it was installed, I was amazed with how well it worked. I wanted to make a little website all about creating a safe, comfortable environment for your family members. Check out this blog to learn how to create more security for you and your family members.

A Breakdown Of Detectors And Sensors Of The Common Alarm System

Blog

Most people know and appreciate the value of having an alarm system in their home, but many are a little in the dark when it comes to understanding exactly how an alarm system works. The truth is, an alarm system is a highly complex piece of technological equipment. You have your control system, which is responsible for triggering different alarms for different reasons, and you have detectors and sensors. Detectors and sensors are probably one of the most diverse parts of the average alarm system because they are responsible for so many different tasks. Here is a look at some of the detectors and sensors of the common alarm system.

Door and Window Sensors

On every door and window in your home, there will be detecting sensors placed to react when the door or window is opened. These are some of the most valuable sensors that are a part of the alarm system because if an intruder tries to get in through one of the access points, an alarm will be instantly triggered if the alarm is enabled. These sensors tend to be magnetized, so when the magnetic barrier is broken, the system knows that something is wrong.

Motion Detectors

Not all systems have motion sensors, but most modern ones do have quite a complex motion-sensing system that is activated when the alarm system is enabled. These motion sensors could be situated indoors, outdoors, or both. Their primary purpose is to send a signal to the alarm system if a motion is detected in areas where there should be no activity when you are either in bed or not at home. For example, if you have a motion detector set up in your living room near the front door, an alarm would be triggered if someone was moving in that area when you are not around.

Interior Shock Detectors

While most intruders will try to gain access to a structure through doors and windows, this is not the only way to get inside of a home. As a matter of fact, an intruder who is familiar with alarm systems and knows about door and window sensors may try to gain access through other means. For example, they may try to cut a hole through a wall or even come down a hole through the roof. Interior shock absorbers trigger the alarm system if there is a major shock to the shell of the house, which is detected by vibrations.
